Question Stradic 2500 fi

Hey Guys and Gals,
My wife has a Stradic 2500 fi, and currently uses it for mainly bream and flathead fishing, We will be going after some Barramundi and threadfin salmon soon and was thinking of spooling her second spool with 20lb and letting her use it to fish with. The question I would like to ask is will the stradic be able to handle this type of fishing without doing any major damage to the reel
Cheers Rob

The Stradic 2500 should do fine.problem is to find a matching rod for the intended species.no,it shouldn't damage the reel itself but maybe just your arm.tell you something.....this year I will be heading to Portland armed with Stradic 2500 ci4 to nitro Distance spin on 10 lbs power pro red......Certate 2500R to nitro magnum butt 10 lbs power pro white.......daiwa fuego 3000 to nitro viper on 20 Lbs power pro white and test em out to the max.kinda have a soft spot for light tackle nowadays.what the fun for traveling all the way to your destination and fish with a broom stick?.its a bit light but there's the boat and will be chasing the fish and theres the gaff to bring em on board.leaders will depends on the day.

2500 will be fine! Just use some good quality braid so you fit a good amount on there. 150m or more will land most fish you are likely to encounter in the estuary.
