new reel choice

G'day to all.
i know somebody who is over in the US of A at the moment,so i was looking at getting a new reel.it will be used out of the kayak so its bound for a hard life casting the washes for tailor, plastics for snapper and hopefully barra in the near future.i was looking at these 3

Saragosa 4000
-355g
-10kg drag
-$190

Stradic 4000 FJ
-304g
-9kg drag
-$200

Stradic 4000 Ci4
-264g
-9kg drag
-$220

they all carry the same amount of line.
have no idea what one to get yet so please give me your opinion (good or bad).and also please dont recommend the 3000 size.

cheers

Stradic 4000 FJ would be my choice. I have a 4000 FI and love it to death.

I would go either the Stradic FJ or the Stradic CI4, leaning toward the CI4.

I'm probably biased as I have the CI4 4000, but if you've ever tried casting and working big barra hardbodies for extended periods with any reel over 300g it can put some serious hurt on your forearms and wrists. When you're putting in 100's if not 1000's of casts the lower weight of the CI4 makes a huge difference. I've got my reel matched up to a Raider Barra Flickstick and I've been able to cast at the max of my range for entire sessions without any pain (apart from when a big barra lunges and rams the rod butt into your stomach )

The saragosa is bullet proof. Stradics are nice, but if it's a tuff reel you're after go the saragosa.

All the above statements have been right.
Here is my break-down of the major pros and cons of each reel.

Stradic 4000 FJ

-Pros: New model, upgraded features compared to the others, good 'lineage' (all other stradics have been popular and good value for money). Not too heavy and still good for lure casting.
-Cons: As it is a new model it won't have been 'proven' by a few years/seasons by heaps of anglers (should still be a cracking reel though).

Stradic 4000 CI4
-Pros: Lightweight - best of the lot for all-round lure work, released not too long ago so it still has new features but has had time to be 'proven'.
-Cons: Not as new as the Stradic FJ, doesn't have all the same features.

Saragosa 4000
-Pros: Very tough reel, slightly larger drag capacity.
-Cons: Heavier than both Stradics so not as good for flicking lures, particularly not smaller lures or plastics. Better for handling XXXL fish.

hahahaha my bad. I just read the specs on them and according to the shimano catalogue the 3000 is heavier than the 4000 anyway. Why the heck did they even bother with a 3000?

Most people understand a 3000 daiwa to be equal to a 4000 shimano.

Go into a tackle store and check them out sometime

i'd go the ci4 as my brother has one and it is really smooth and has a magnificent drag system, he works at the barra park and he has landed some stonker barra on it!
