Daiwa Alphas R Edition or Chronarch D

The Daiwa Alphas R Ediotion is $350 new from a shop
The Shimano Chronarch D is $330 new from a shop

Which one would you go for:

I also have some question about the Alphas R

What is Dyna Rigid frame it doesn't list it in the features section on the daiwa Aus website, is the reel metal, zion or graphite?

In my opinion the Alpha is the cooler reel but the Chronarch looks more rugged and like it can be abused a bit and take bigger fish but it weighs 43 grams more it would be my freshwater combo. Not sure what rod ill be matching them up to and i won't be getting for a few months till i finish school then ill have to work

Can't comment on the Chronach but I have an alphas R and love it. Its spooled with 20lb braid and gets fished for bass or barra if I feel like a challenge. Drag has been upgraded and its one hell of a smooth and reliable reel.

The Alphas has an aluminium frame. It's a very hard choice between those two, both are very good reels. I'd pick the Alphas is you are using it for lighter lures and lighter applications, and the Chronarch for the heavier applications.

no much for most of you guys

but for now i think the Alpha is winning

If so I think you'll find that the Chronarch is actually the left handed model and also by request of the left hand Alphas they wont actually stock these in the shop.
I was planning to buy both until they noted that the Alphas is discontinued and cant be ordered in from Daiwa.
They might have some right hand models of the alphas but no lefts.
This may altor they outcome.
I personally like both, having 2 Alphas already they are very nice reels. The Chronarch is EASILY my favourite out of the 2 however.
Cast like a bullet and with minimum backlash.

I go right handed reels because i naturally cast over my left shoulder and don't switch hands to wind, but i am right hander when i write but if i hold a cricked bat or lacrosse stick im left handed

Oh and yes the reels re from the specials section of Mo's i was trying to keep it quiet because i want them to stay there until i get some cash

Get a Metanium Mg so you dont hv to spend $680.

Basically it is just the JDM magnesium version of Chronarch. 170g.

Otherwise Alphas R edition hands down.
