New products
This is not an attempt to blatantly spam products, however I did receive quite a few updates on some new gear which as now arrived and still to come.
This list is as follows-goods now available Tsunami soft plastic's plus some special models to follow. Sufix Fluorocarbon leader in 6,8,10,12,15 and 20pound. Sufix Hydrofine braid in 6,8,10 and 14 pound, 4lb to follow very shortly. Sufix Braid buddy leader in 12,15 and right through to 125lb. 6,8,10lb to follow soon. New stuff due after christmass Mustad saltwater version of the fly snaps packed in individual sizes (not mixed) Mustad red chem trebles in size 10 and 12. Penn 11 B/B spin reels suit bream and Mully spinners. I have a 2000 model and works a treat, there will also be a 1000. There is plenty more. but the items listed above were from inquiries that I had from this site. I would have responded to each email but I have put them in a folder and can't find the bloddy thing. For more info contact BM or your local tackle store. They may well find there way into stores soon |

Couple of guys checking out the fluro at the moment Madaff. Sounds like another good one.
Curious to see how the braid goes as well, always good to have a backup. Thanks mate,

Bear have been using the Invisiline for just over 2 years now and refuse to use anything else. This is the first time we have had anything below 20lb. I brought back a sample of the 10 and 15lb from the Sydney tackle show, and they have performed extremely well and it's a lot cheaper than a few years ago too.
I gave Warren a sample spool before the Mandurah round but have not heard anything back from him. I have been using a sample 4lb and so far good. There is no way it will last anywhere near as long as Penn braid does but then again it is double the price. Last edited by madaff; 10-11-2003 at 09:35 AM. |

madaff: what sort of price range will the Penn reels be in? I'm a big fan of them... should be interesting to see. I wonder if they've moved away from their oldskool looks/design...

Craig, the Penn Captiva 1000 and 2000 series is very different to the normal Penn's. It will have Anti twist B/B line roller, Huge drag system for it's size, folding handle, twin Ball bearing on main shaft for spool support, gearing is supported by plenty of bearing's, flat line lay with epliptcal cross wind block, never fail bail arm spring. Bascialy has all the mod com's. I think they will start retail at around $129 but that a guess. The 7000 size should be around $159
Here is a really bad photo I just took indoors, it's only to give you an idea what it looks like. There will also be a 500 size which is a 6 B/B. One for the trouties. Bear the braid comes in Hi Viz green fluoro and grey |

I also forgot to mention that there will be a Penn Slammer 160, thats right a tiny bream bream that could easily handle 30lb braid. If your in a tackle store somewhere ask to see a Slammer 260 then you will see what I mean. There will be no other brand on the market that will be as strong as this bream reel. This will be a lifetime reel but should set you back about $250, but when you consider you will have it for ever it will be worth it. I am going to love the next 2 years

Cheers for that madaff.
Might pencil one of those Captiva's in as my backup reel. They look pretty sweet. If any of their reels are built like their 20+ year old surf reels my dad still has sitting in his shed, they'll be more than worth their $ outlay... Craig H
