Stradic ci4 problem.

Hey guys, i brought myself a 2500 ci4 for chrissy last year and love the reel and performs awesomely. However last week i picked it up to take it out for flatty, i gave it a wind and it sounded really loud. Now when i wind it, it sounds like a fan. I wash it everytime i use and take great care of it. I'm not sure what the problem is any help would be awesome
cheers.

Line roller bearing most likely...add a touch of oil...be carefull when you take it apart...put a coles plastic bag in a small box to contain it then pull the bail arm apart in the bag in case things fall out without you noticing

I cut the line and wound it unrigged it still makes the noise, so it's deffinately not the roller.

Send it off for a service. I reckon saltwater has gotten into a bearing, and it will need replacing.

if its just a bearing. I just go down to a bearing shop and buy a packet of high quality stainless sheilded bearings designed for small electrical motors or alternaters. Only costs a few dollars and is a cheap way to fix reels if they ever get a dunking. I would take the bearing out and turn it in your hand. you will know if thats the problem. If it isnt a bearing i would get it looked at under warranty. I hear shimano have good warranty service but i couldnt part with my reel for a week or two waiting for it to get fixed and returned.
