Megabass rods-which one?
Hey guys heading to Bali at the end of this month and i know a place i can get MB rods.
Really want to buy the right rod so thought i would try and find what i am looking for now. I want a rod that 7'-7'6" , 2-6lb or 4-8lb, flick REALLY LIGHT lures far and a good hards rod. What should i look for as talking someone with a different language would be weird ?Also the shop is called Puri Pancing and what other rods should i look out for there aswell as in other shops? |

There is a rather lengthy thread on this topic entitled "4 new rods from megabass?" started by none other than yours truly. You will find a fair bit of information on there.
![]() As far as 7'-7'6" rods go you may want to check out graphite leader or major craft rods.

Alright so i just had a look at all the MB rods and heres the ones that are to my liking...
and also could you tell me the taper of the rod and how many pieces it is as all the writing is Jap. Megabass Destroyer Racing Condition F2-610XRSC http://www.megabass.co.jp/products/b...2-610xsrc.html Megabass Orochi Peak Performance F2-70DGS http://www.megabass.co.jp/products/b.../f2-70dgs.html Megabass Shoreluck XX SLX-74UL(How does it balance as it is quite short at the butt-like a BD Clear Cut custom?) http://www.megabass.co.jp/products/s...slx-74-ul.html Megabass Shoreluck SLM-74UL http://www.megabass.co.jp/products/s.../slm-74ul.html What is the best hards rod that can flick light lures a country mile but still be able to handle bream out of this list? No flatties or anything big where i live so basically only thing i have to worry about is jagging a stingray .Feel free to comment about other rods like these aswell. |

Majorcraft are great rods and cheap as well, volkey series with k guides landed at your door for $220 and the days series are great to. I have a 7'3" days and love it and also had a volkey which I miss greatly, days also come in 7'6" 5-10lb 2 piece

I have just been emailing Japan Pro Fishing about rods for bream. They said that Megabass reccomend the following rods for casting hardbodies:
destroyer phase 3 FO-68XS destroyer phase 3 F2-66XS http://www.megabass.co.jp/destroyer/p3_hps.html Orochi X4 F1-66X4S http://www.megabass.co.jp/products/bass-rod/orochi-x4/ JPF said that these rods will throw even the lightest lures a mile, even the shorter models cast further than most longer rods. The racing condition is more suited to soft plastics, the shoreluck SLM-74UL is a 3 piece, the SLX-74UL is a 2 piece

The 74UL XOR has a very thin diameter almost quiver tip on it which is rediculously sensitive, though I'm ensured it is made of solid carbon and doesn't break easily.....I haven't used mine yet but I can see it'll be a great rod for light lures which require delicate retrieves!
It isn't as stiff a taper as I thought it would be but still a great rod to have if you already a have DSR or the like for the heavier work. Cheers. |
