Yep, Panasonic Lumix FT2 aswell for me. Everything a fisherman wants, 10m Waterproof, 2m Shockproof and -10 degrees freezeproof. Takes awesome photos aswell! I picked mine up for $450 a year ago, I believe they would've gone down a bit now.

I got mine for $399 (could of even been $299) it came with a bag and 4gb memory card too

my dads camera has a setting called macro - close up shots. Does the Lumix ft2 or 3 have this?

Yep, most camera's do. It's usually signified by a the button with a little flower on it.

I have a couple...

Pentax W90 and a Nikon D3100 with a few lenses.

Never use the W90 anymore tho. I strongly recommend you don't get into photography! You thought fishing was bad with Stella's and Exists! Wait till you buy a DSLR lol

$78 dollar dick smith super camera! its had a hard life and uses batteries so you just take more instead of worring if your going to run it flat. its no mercedes but it does the trick, a mate has a breif case size camera bag that has a 60k price tag attached, i can see how it could be come addicting!
