Rod Selection Time

Hi All,

I am in the process of buying a new rod for breaming etc... and was hoping for some input from you all. I have narrowed it down to 3 rods.

- Shimano T-curve Flight with full recoils giudes 6'6'' 1-4kg
- Shumano T-curve Tournament 661 1-3kg
- Lox Yoshi 6'6'' 1-3kg

They are all around the same price so this is not an issue.

Any other suggestiouns would be great also, obiously they are all around the $200 mark.

Personally would go the lox, light, sensitive, great tapers love mine.

I have the T-Curve 662xl and for hards, it's bloody awesome. And the short grip helps too but can get painful in the wrist

The Flight was originally a $400+ rod, so if you can find one for $200 grab it, best value rod out there.

The patriarch XTRs seem to be a nice rod, Picked one up today feels quite nice in the hand for the price.

I am pretty much sold on the Flight but the only problem I have is that is a fair way from my place and I would really love to have a feel. I saw them a few months ago but didnt buy it then (rookie error).

The LOX is very nice but I have Browning Ambush which is pretty much identical.

Looks lioke I will have to go for a drive.........

Lox is prolly the most versatile rod in that list. my mate happily uses his 7'6" for plastics and hards and vibes. very sensitive rod - be careful on car doors and low ceilings with this one

my 7' flight is used mainly for crankin hardbodies and topwaters, bigger plastics and squidding. i find it's not the best for light plastics as the rod is a bit soft in the tip - it also has a nice medium taper for HBs. also love the sound of the recoils when the rods working over time ! mine has full recs + SIC stripper and tip to prevent wind knots - have never had one. apparently with the full recs you 'may' run into issues.

note that there is quite a contrast with the weight on these rods .. lox is feather light and t curve just average weight.
