Do I bring my own?
Hey,
Just wondering are you meant to bring your own lifejacket when fishing as a non boater in comps?? Cheers |

Most bring there own, then they can use what they want instead of getting the big yellow or orange ones (which are spares in most boats). But yeah certainly if you can afford it then take your own, relying on the boater could leave you with nothing. Usually others have spares if you forget anyway.
cheers

You most likely need one, most boaters will have spares but most of the time they're probably like rocks. Not that you need it to be comfortable as you're only wearing it while on the plane, I was lucky enough to get a boater with a PFD style lifejacket but you aren't always so lucky.

Best thing is to bring your own.
If you end up being my non boater you unfortunatly will be using a yellow brick. No the most comfy thing to wear. Go to your local shop you can get some pfd's for a reasonable price. |

Marty, I'll be at the Gold Coast ABT round next week and have a spare pfd available for you to borrow. It's an Evinrude-branded manual pdf that a few of the other entrants I've notice wear plus you won't notice you're wearing it.
PM me with your mobile number and I'll sort it out with you at the briefing. As the other have said, if you can, purchase one for yourself. Even if you don't plan to enter more comps, it's just good to have your own (that fit correctly and is comfortable) for when you jump on a mates/family members boat. Cheers, Tim |

Marty
Have you entered yet ? If you have, check that your name has been listed on the entry list. If you haven't , you might miss out. Go to bream .com.au check the entry list bizzo and then check your event |

Marty, I just checked bream.com.au this morning before seeing Dodgy's message and also noticed no one by the name of Marty who is a non-boater.
Maybe you've entered and ABT are yet to process. However, even if that's the case you maybe out of luck, as there may not be enough boaters. |

I called before I sent thru my form and they said it would be updated on the Monday before the comp. So will check on Monday and if not will give them a call, they have already charged my cc so will have to just wait and see.
Thanks for the concern

Just called them and they stuffed and put me as a boater instead of a non boater.... That would have been interesting on the day....
