well...not many replies...but...you can get some great sounders from bias boating warehouse in any state..as well as the normal marine centers....hummingbird or lowrance..both good sounders...but to be honest if you wait until you have more to spend then you will get a much better sounder...

Save a couple of extra greens for a DSI Lowrance, well worth it over old technology. This is the return I get with a thru the hull job in my kayak, and external mount would be even better. First 2 are obvious cars (Fish holding in the down current section of the first car) bet you can't guess what the third picture is... And that exactly my point, there is no guess work with a DSI sounder, you KNOW what you're looking at. Don't mind my boof head in the first picture, I used my iphone purely because I was like "Holy DohDohDohDoh a car!" and didn't get the DSLR out lol

@ Ado. thanks for posting the pics. You have encouraged me to hold on to the cash I was about to splash on an e-bay item! Question tho, I don't posses my own sea fearin craft, can you "bolt" on to a temporary craft?

All sounder installs can be removed at one stage or another, I wouldn't be moving the sounder from one boat to another every week tho lol. As for throwing it on your mates boat for a day... I wouldn't recommend it at all.
