what do i do now.

hey guys i just spent 3 days 2 nights at a local lake trout fishing i was in my tiny little tinnie fishibg with my mate but this morning (last day) when i got snagged and went to flick it off the line would snap at first i assumed my line was the fault after the 3rd time and realising it was the same distance each time i checked the guide to my rod ( a daiwa luvias 7 foot 1-3kg, silver) and on the first eye it was cracked and had a chip out of the inside. these guides are titanium carbide and for an expensive rod retailing for nearly 400 dollars i wouldnt expect this. i did not rough the rod up or anything. i hacve no idea how it happened so my question is. what do i do about it??? i bought it second hand and it was in perfect condition and now this!!! do i just buy a new rod or?????

Going to have to check my guides now on my luvias. Can they go brittle being left in the sun or something along those lines?

It's pretty easy to replace them yourself, otherwise just see your tackle shop or rod builder it might cost you about $20

If the insert is cracked just get a new guide. Nothing to do with daiwa, usually from a whack against something.

Go into a tackle shop and get a sic tip so suit, most will replace it for ya on the spot.
