Tangle-Free Guides?

Hey guys

Have some rods already on the wishlist for christmas and my birthday is not long after and I was just after some of your info. Was mainly after a rack rod and was planning it to be a custom jobbie, maybe based on a millerod breambuster brawler blank or a duffrod tournament pro rack..

Getting to the point, i'm always fiddling around with tangles because of the large leader knots when fishing racks with heavy line.. Aparently some brand has recently released "tangle free guides" has anyone heard anything about them or am I just dreaming?

Hey Mate I believe there more to stop knots on the guides themselves, pretty sure your talking about k guides
Although I have seen rods that purposely have larger diameter guides to allow heavier leaders to be used, such as the diawa saltwater range.
Hope this helps mate.

Thanks for that guys, those guides look the goods

Yeah stealth, I was meaning the leader knot getting stuck in the tip all the time but am occasionally getting wrapped around the guides too I may have to get those Fuji K Guides and just purposely get a larger tip on it.

ive got a few rods with k guides, they are sweet as. At first i was like these look weird as, but now i love them and want them on all my rods.

You will get the odd line tangle still, but they dont tighten so you can just brush them off the guide with ease.

They wont stop you from having problems with bulky knots though mate!

Anything from 6-14lb, don't have much troubles with the 6, it's mainly from 8-10lb and up.

try the vhard in 10pd, its not the cheapest but has the finest diameter .
Combine that with an albright 6 up , 4 down cut the tags as close as you can, you should have no problems
