Which Sephia are u looking at? Sephia au or the Japanese Sephia, Sephia ci4 or Sephia BB model?

I think the au is not very good but for that price it is OK. Around $200 you can have a look at Daiwa Emer INF 83ML guide which I think is better

The old 2007 JDM Sephia was good, but the new Sephia and the ci4 are not as good as. For that $$ you may look at Graphiteleader or Daikok .

I am now using the Emer St interline and I love it.

What is your budget?

Any Graphiteleader's or Daikoh's will be way over Sephia AU considering they are mid-higher end rod, like the original JDM Sephia which was higher end in Shimano then the mid end Sephia ci4 then the budget Sephia BB.

The Sephia AU is wierd to me that they are rated 1.8 - 4.0 Egi size (a huge range ). If you look at other brands they may just be rated 2.5 - 3.5. Yes, you can still cast them but I hv felt the Sephia AU would be too soft in the tip for working bigger Egi properly.

And the Egee interline is too tip heavy for me. IMO I would only go for interline in mid to higher end class considering blank material plays a more important role in interline rod or it would be generally heavy or tip heavy. For lower end models a guide rod would be better (maybe the Sephia AU). Some people may not mind the weight factor but for me you need to keep flicking the rod in eging so a light and well balanced rod is a must. For mid to higher end interline with better and lighter blank and without guides it can be as good as or better than guide rod.

Also, maybe you need to ask some locals what Egi size suits your region. In Brisbane here we have generally shallow water so we only need a rod that can work Egi in 1.8 - 2.5 most of the time. In Sydney I know some spots have deep water and require long cast off the rock. You may need a stiffer rod that can work those larger Egi.

Cheers.

better off having a nicer sephia sent over from plat, or perhaps a major craft I have heard many good things about these rods especially at there price.
if you can find a hearty rise egi force type B they are very nice also (this is the rod I use)

well theres a few on plat , the crosrage is around 150, the solpara is around 100 and the pandra (which I have heard is a top rod for the price) is around 350..
then you have to look at shipping from plat for a 2 piece rod im not sure how much they charge...
