Stradic, who is lying??

Hey Stradic fi owners, what is this reel made out of??

Seems every site I go on states different materials
The Shimano Aus website states "Magnesium Frame & Sideplate, Aluminum Rotor" but other online stores claim "Aluminium Frame" some even say "Graphite body"??. Shimano North america states"Aluminum Frame, Graphite Sideplate, Graphite Rotor????????

Honestly, what the hell?
Can someone please confirm what this reel is actually made out of?

Cheers Michael

Just to confuse it a bit the 2011 catalogue says aluminium frame with graphite sideplate and rotor. For a reel of that price I think this would be correct. If it was a Mg body it would cost a lot more i'd imagine.

Yes they are an Aluminium frame, if they were Magnesium they would be much lighter.

The Shimano Aus site is ridiculous... Half of the specs are just copied and pasted from other reels and not bothered to be changed.... Some are just missing.

dont think it comes with aluminum rotor........just the body in aluminum n graphite the rest.IF however it does comes with the aluminum rotor, the price would be doubled.just my 2 cents.

Think your right mate.
Tackle tour has done a write up on the FI stradic and they say alloy frame with graphite side plate and rotor.

I had a look at my twinpower and it was the same rotor but not sure if the side plate is alloy or not.

Thanks again fellas. I'm going to grab a 2500, Seems they are highly rated for smooth performance and reliability at their price. This would also leave a bit of extra cash for a better bream stick

Totally agree with you Hazell, Shimano Aus website is complete DohDohDohDoh

Hopefully Shimano have a spy or 2 on here that will see this thread.

As what most people would see as the face of a company, I think it's very important to get the details correct.
