I used to have a 2000 size and thought it was a tough little reel. Felt very solid. Bargain if you can get them on special as they usually go on sale frequently

Great reels. Tough, smooth drag, awesome line lay and feel very solid. Just a little on the heavy side if you are casting all day. I've got a 1000 that is about 7yrs old now and is still as smooth as the day I got it.

Had the applause (model below) a while back and it was a tank. Couldn't fault it and got my PB on her. Only issue is they are a tad heavy but thats because they are full metal constructed and tough as guts. Great reels for the price.

Bit late..... but..

I have a 2000 Applause, less bearings than affinity thus cheaper. Love the drag sound, smooth as. It is a bit heavier than other brands but often cheaper too.
Had it for 18 months with no probs until I dropped it into the water (brackish) and did not pull it apart until the following morning. You can guess what happen then...1 rusty bearing due to not being a water proof unit. It still goes ok, but is now a bit knotchy. Replacement bearings are avaliable from Jarvis Walker.
I like them personally !
