All sorted

For some stupid reason, the CI4 does not come with a spare spool in Australia.

But I heard a rumor reels bought online/overseas do come with a spare.

Can anyone say if this is true or not?

Cheers

That's not true I think the rarenium is the only ci4 with spare spool? I saw somewhere someone emailed Shimano aus and was quoted 50$ for a ci4 spool. I'll try find the post/email.

Not sure about your question but I purchased a spare spool for my 2500 Symetre from Shimano(Dunphy), Sydney. Would be worth giving them a ring direct. Price including delivery was great and it arrived within the week. Regards.

I'd say the 'stupid' reason is probably to keep the price tag lower

Yeah, that is a 'stupid' reason.

1 spool is pointless, atleast give an option of the reel w/ a spare then.

As above.

2500 SOL came with a spare, and I purchased a third.

What would you do if you were away fishing for 4 days and half way through day one you get a big fluffy and need to cut 20m off , then you get smoked with 30m of line out , then you have no braid left.... Spool #2 time...

Reason I'm looking into the 2500 CI4 as my 2500 SOL is a touch big and heavy. But after looking around today as prices and lack of essential spare spools, might get a second hand 2000 SOL.

Now for another dooosey of a question. Can the 2500 and 2000 SOL swap spools?

Haha exactly!

If I had 5 spools all interchange able it would be getting abit silly, braid costs too much for that.
