good multipurpose rod. $450???

hey guys
just looking for a new rod to put on my luvias 2000. already got what i would consider a dedicated hard bodies and plastic setup so was thinking of getting more of an allround rod this time. roughly looking to spend around $400-500. have been looking at a gary howard g force x/light 2-8lb but have not seen many reviews on this rod so will consider another rod if it feels as good in the hand and has had good reviews. thanks in advance agz

My favourite allround rod would have to be a Samurai 101. I run a 2000 Luvias on mine to.

I agree with the 201, its a cracking rod and just about the favourite in my quiver. For your area I reckon it is perfect. Light hardbodies on the flats early, moving deeper with placcies and blades later in the day. I would have no problems throwing medium sized topwater on it as well.

Cheers,

Samurai love is in the air!

I've never used the 201 and 203, preferred the slightly stiffer 101.

If you really want all rounder the 302 is it. Still great for bream but can handle bigger fish like snapper etc.... Not sure if that's what you meant for a "all rounder" or just one for Bream?

mainly just a bream stick but will prob be using all different kinds of lures on it. i have seen samurai rods mentioned a fair bit on here and will need to track sum down. the shop i visited the other day only had the 203 and while a nice feeling rod wasnt quite wat i was looking for, think i will try to track down a 101 and 201 and check em out. cheers for the replies, keep em coming if anyone has any more

The samaki range of rods are a nice all-round stick. I love my Zing for chucking HBs

nitro powerbream finesse 7ft 1-3kg @ $320
vapor 6', 6'6, 1-2kg or 7ft 1-3kg @ $430
being 2pc is a big plus in my books
im a huge fan of nitro rods and will definately be grabbing a few more when finances allow.

also have a look at a custom duffrods maybe. they seem to get a good wrap and may well fall within or just over your budget goodluck cheers YD
