Austackle rods???
Hey,
Just wondering what the austackle rods are like?? Anyone on here using them? They seem to use good components and pretty good prices if you have a abt membership! Any help/comments/advice would be great. Cheers |

For bream luring CRAP stay away far far away, there puss, bad blanks, bad guides, bad reel seats, aw there just horrid.
A mate had one a camo stik was meant to look like camo but ended up being labelled the moo cow because that's what It really looked like. IMHO I would run lol just my 2 cents Last edited by Stealth; 02-06-2011 at 10:44 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Oh.... I see.
I was looking at the camo sticks but was only going by the pics on their site, had never seen them in person. Will stay clear and stick to the better know brands. Last edited by marty_87; 02-06-2011 at 07:06 AM. |

The Camo Stik of 2010-2011 is a far different rod and one which had had exceptional reviews. Steve Morgan posted the following comments on the ABT website a couple of weeks ago: New Austackle Rods Hit the Market There's a couple of new rods of interest to light line estuary lurers that have come from Austackle. The Takeda Fireblade is brand new model. It's IM8 graphite, 7' and one piece with a fast taper and light tip. Rated at 1-3kg and built with Fuji Alconite guides, the $199 RRP price tag weighs in at only had of similar feeling rods from other major brands. This rod will be very popular with the bream fraternity. Additionally, Austackle's Camo Stik has been redesigned with feedback from their Pro Anglers. Its handle is thinner and shorter than the originals, making it a true, single handed, 7' rod. Also built with Fuji guides, the green camo grips make this rod identifiable in any boat. Cosmetics are a very personal thing and Camo is one of those things you either love or hate which is why Austackle also bought out a Plain Vanilla range. AS for crap guides, crap reel seat etc - Fuji components are used throughout the range so i dont think you would get too many people agreeing with you on this point. As for the blanks, they are IM8 graphite and are exceptional value for money. I dont have a problem with anybody expressing a personal opinion about any of our gear as long as its relevant (not 4 years out of date) and is objective. We listen carefully to customer feedback and many of our products over the years have been modified as a result. I am very confident that the current range of Austackle rods are as good as anything on the market in a similar price bracket and better than some that are twice the price. I'm not talking about the new ones, my mate had a camostik or what ever There called, around 2 year ago he said it was made by austackle.
It was a truly horrid rod. Just my humble opinion. Sorry didn't mean to offend. Cheers stealth |
