What to look out for on a Prosrike

Hi guys, I have finally made up my mind about the type of glass boat I am after and that is a Hains prostrike.
Hoping someone out there that might be able to help me in differencating between the 490 and 490s.
Also the difference between the early models and the later 490 models.
What to look for in the hull structure to see where the weakest point is.

Many thanks to who ever can help.

Looks like the S stands for Sports i.e. ProStrike 490 Sports

What do you mean by 'weakest point'? If a boat had a weak point I would keep looking!
Having had a Prostrike for 3 years, I haven't found found any 'weak points' yet.
Its spent a bit of time in the air and it just keeps going. Having worked on it a bit fitting new sounders and stuff, it is a tugboat! The bit where the control box mounts is 19mm thick! The console is about 10 mm thick.
The newer ones have a different spray rail setup at the bow and a bit more legroom for the driver.
A highly specialised boat, but I am very happy with mine.

If there is anything to look out for, it would be the history of the boat. Try and find out all you can about the history and if its been written off at all.

Good Luck

Thanks guys for the info. Do the hulls vary or are they all the same.
Does anything change including console and locks?

Pro Strike

The differences between 490 and 490s is mainly in the chines, and the S has a wider planning strake.(more stability).
AS said before also more leg room for the driver.
Also more options included, lockable hatches etc,all can be purchased as a option with the standard anyway.
You can down load the PFD file from Haines Hunter it will tell you everything.
Tried to upload it here but exceeds size limit.
Here is the link:
