Question new okuma fina ?

I've been told there is a new okuma fina model coming out. Does anyone know if this is true and what the differences are from the previous one ? as I understand they cost about twice as much as the old model.

ps: will the smallest model still be the 3000 size ?

cheers.

I think you are missing the fact that this is a new version of the Fina.

Holden have been making and selling "Commodores" since the late 70's, doesn't stop them from releasing a "new" one every couple of years.

Did you read the review/comparison of the old and new Fina at tackletour?

to pw, I do understand that it is simply a new model but my local tackle store told me that the new one was going to cost about $120.00, hence my confusion as it should retail for about $50 or $60.

cheers.

Hey Big Mumma.
Id suggest that the price increase is in line with the quality upgrades. Th added bearings, new drive/gears, new handle, new drag and new spool/spool lip...
The upgrades now put that reel into the over $100 category. If your after an Okuma around the original price range, try the Avenger.
Hope this helps mate.

yeah I was leaning towards the AV-20 to put on my squidgy 7' untill I heard about the new fina. The review on tackletour says it should still be about $50.00 though. Maybe the store attendent didn't know what he was talking about.

ps does anyone have any experience of a TICA GH 2000 ?

Was that $50US being a US site.

That would explain a bit.

pw-bream,

Yes I did look at the site I was interested to see the new one
I can assure u that the so called "new fina" pictured on that site is the exact same one i have had for around 2 years
cost me $84.95 at a guess
The gold stuff on the bottom of the reel comes off rather quickly & easily
my reel isnt very attractive anymore but everything is still working fine

Is it sposed to be new to Australia or wot?
I have seen the other model around aswell i thort the olf one in picture was called the FA - 30

anyways if u want to ask any further questions about that reel fire away!

Cheers
