If i'm chasing flathead, 10lb braid and 12lb leader for me

I run 0.8PE or PE1.0 with 6lb, 7lb, 8lb or even 10lb leader. I really don't know why so many people go so light. Using stuff like 2 or 3lb is just ridiculous.
Reading this article made me realise this:http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/mythbuster , and is it me or have I seen the bloke in that article somewhere around this site. If its fluoro, fish pretty much can't see it anyway, as long as you have a generous length of fluoro. I remember fishing about 1-2m of clear water with 16lb fluoro with a grass minnow on the end, I could see bream attacking it as soon as it came off the bottom, and they kept on attacking it since I didn't hook them up.

Stay with the 6lb, if you went to 8lb fluro there is still a chance of nailing bream

try an 8lb mate if it makes you feel more confident. if you find the strike rate significantly goes down. switch back to the 6lb. simple! but mate, water clarity and conditions pending, i can't see a huge difference switching between 6 and 8. alot of guys bump leaders up to 8 if fishing around snags or racks etc.

I fish 6lb or 8lb fluro, but i have succeeded on 10lb and 12lb with bream and those articals are spot on, if you catch fish, you catch fish leader size doesnt matter, and if your strike rates do go down, so what, doesnt hurt to quickly switch back?
