Dont own a skeeter but a stacer 4.7 with a 75 opti on the back, cost's for me would be around about $3000 to $4000 per year.
This includeds 2x services, oil, petrol and general upkeepof the boat and not to forget trailer...eg bearings, hubs, brakes ect.

About $1300-1400 for insurance, rego and 100hr servicing in Victoria (I know you're in NSW)

Petrol and oil really depends on how much time i spend going WOT or cruising at 40mph. But roughly, say $3500/year.

Thanks mate, can you give me an idea of the size/type of your boat and motor?
Appreciate it.

I have a tracker proteam 175 with 40hp merc 4 stroke. Last year over summer up until late march early april I had the boat out 2-3 times a week using it 10-15mins on the average trip and up to 30-40min about every 5th trip. A lot of the time that was wide open throttle. I reckon at a guess over summer I put about $200 of fuel in it. I bought a new battery at about $150, service was about $600 rego $250 and insurance about $500. There are cheap options out there. The boat does about 45-50km/hr with the 40 so not fast but there's slower boats out there.

I can probably do a single tournament weekend - 3 days on 1 tank and still come back home with 20-40litres...

Not a problem!

Just had a look on the Ranger website and it says the z518 is rated to 200.

The 150 Opti will push it along just fine, but I suggest spending that little bit extra up front and going the 200 and getting the 3L big block engine. Fuel economy will be a lot better, it will carry a load (livewells full of water, extra people, full tanks of fuel, heaps of gear) 10x better without labouring the engine and you will have the speed there if you choose to go fast

Skeeter ZX180/150HO E-tec
Boat Rego: $92
Trailer Rego: $153
Annual Trailer Inspection: $26.50/year
Boat Insurance: $413 (Club Marine)
Engine Service: dunno yet
E-tec Fuel Injector (if outside of warranty) ~$1,000

Running Costs:
Oil: about $60/5L
Fuel, this is the big variable and as previous guys have said, depends how you drive it, mine at WOT (104kmh) burns 38-40 L/hour so if your doing long runs it wont take long to empty a tank.....drop back to less throttle and I can still achieve 75-80kmh using 25-30L/h depending on trim and engine height (I've got a hydraulic JP) etc etc.......you can do the sums but a typical weekend to Glenbawn (4-5 sessions) for me will burn ~70L fuel
