reel bail arm

Seeing as everyone seems to be putting polls up at the moment, i was thinking of one about fishing reels.

basically, what do you do after you have casted the lure and it has hit the water? do you just start winding to trip the bail arm or do you flip it over by hand?

personally i flip it over by had the pull the line tight to the line roller to make sure there is no loose loop on the spool.

I do the same thing. Can't bare watching others cranking the handle to flip the bail on high end reels.

Hand, because its not only easier to manage loose line (what you and daiwafreak do) but I'm told it wrecks the bail mechanism if you wind it shut.. anyone care to elaborate on the damage it causes?

Hand, it's a pretty violent snap back if you wind with my Luvias.
