Shimano Stella Spinning Reel FD

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the stella FE 1000 and FD 1000 reel?

About $200 ... from the reports the FE is noticeably a better reel. I own the FD and am more than happy with that for now ... I've a really bad infection at the moment that is making me buy lots of Jap Hb's so the $200 has come in quite handy.

Thanks
Matt

I have both, the FD is a great reel the FE is essentially a more refined version.
Given the choice id take the FE.

i have always been a daiwa fan, but since picking up the FE i am a changed man! FE is smoother, lighter and in my opinion, looks nicer than the FD. The FD is a great reel, the FE is an awesome reel!

If not get a Steez!

Hey,

I've got a JDM FD 2000s, FD and a FE in 2000. I think they are all great reels and not a lot of difference IMO. I wouldn't say the FE is noticably better, its a newer model.

In fact one noticable difference is the gear on the main shaft under the spool is plastic in the FE and alloy on the FD.

Cheers,

The look of the FE grows on you.
It's my first Stella after having used the poor man's Stella (Twinpowers) for a while.

I love the look of the new Stella. Don't love its price tag though haha
