Stella Spool Compatibility

I am looking at buying a spare spool for my stella, probably an original one or the yumeya ones. My question is whether a 3000 spool will fit on a 2500 reel. Seems like the 3000 is just a 2500 spool that is a little deeper?

Cheers,

Daiwafreak

Don't think it will work, whatever the stock spool is i think you need to keep it the same.

Unless its a 2500 and the spool is 2508 or 2506, keep the first two numbers the same as stock.

different setup for Shimano......their shallow/finesse spools are indicated as S after the designated number...ie 2500 = 2500S

yes you can fit the 3000 onto the 2500......but not the other way round. The 2500 spool wont fit on a 3000 due to the rotor size.

Even if he had a Daiwa, isn't it right that some Daiwa spools are interchangeable due to having the same body? IE: Certate 2000 spool on a Certate 1500?

I know you can do that with the stradic's. Got a mate who goes out of his way to get the 3000 spools on his 2500's

Sweet, thanks guys. I am sure the 2500 has plenty of line capacity for the fishing I do. Do shimano do a stock or yumeya 3000S spool for the Stella 07 (FD)?

Cheers,

You need a Type S-2 spool,

which covers these sizes for the 2010 Stella
2500 / 2500S / 2500HGS / C3000 / C3000S / C3000HG / C3000SDH

and these sizes for the 2007 Stella
2000 / 2000S / 2500 / 2500S / C3000 / C3000HG
