I've always used LOX's for bream with my CI4, but now they have a whole range of rods going from little 1-3kg bream stick to huge beach rods. Im sure you'll find a rod in the mix that suits what your after.

Cheers, Blooper

for jigging small kings and aj's .. way too light imo. You're gonna want something about pe2 imo, otherwise you're gonna lose fish after fish after fish.. Can't offer any advice on a rod model soz.
I think bm member sav_02 or someone here put together a similar outfit.. might be worth having a search.

You really need to decide what the maximum jig weight you want to use is and then a line size. No good buying a rod that can't work the jigs you want.

Cheers, Dror

doesnt matter how many jigs you got mate. Its more about if the rod can handle it or not.

I got 2 jigging outfits with 4000 size reels. One for under 80gm and one for 90-150gm.....

Be abit more specific, ie average depth of water, size line?? will you use it for bit of casting as well or other type of jigs as well, like bay rubbers and large SPs.....

what depth are you fishing? how heavy a jig do you want to work? unless you want to buy from o.s theres not much at all available locally that sort of suits what your after.

evergreen, maria and hots make some of the best light jigging rods on the market and would be pretty damn perfect for what your after but they cost a bomb, have a look at golden mean, the sabel dance and earthshaker series, chinese made rods but they are still pretty cool and at a good price. spend as much as you can because a good jig rod is worth its weight in gold to work a jig with and then to bully fish with, even somebody who has never dropped a jig before can feel the difference between say a shimano/daiwa "jigging" rod and a true jap designed/built rod they are that much better.

as for your reel id run 20 rather than 30, i run 20lb. on my sw stella 5000 on a maria 80-200gm for my light/medium weight outfit for jigging the 20-50m stuff off cape moreton and you can muscle most fish on that sort of gear, obviously when the big boys show up you get toasted but if your planning to run 30lb. on a 4000 shimano your going to have bugger all capacity, if a decent tuna/mackrel/hoo decides to take your jig your in a world of trouble

dunno if the mods will allow this but if you get a chance come up to bris and come say gday at jones's tackle and we can show you a few rods, we stock the golden mean jig rods and a bunch of other cool stuff, give it a couple of weeks and we will have a whole new wall of mega cool jigs too from fcl labo, hots, cb one and evergreen as well
