My view would be, Caladia 2506 over the Egee. Egee's are bargain basement reels.

The Caldia 2004 is a little beast, on par with the new Infeet mx's and the Sols.

I can't fault my 2004 and 2506 Caldias,

Personally i'd aim a little high up the food chain with daiwas, daiwa for mid range to high end

Shimano for the cheaper reels, or stellas

Egee's

I have a few of the EGee's which I picked up cheap from an O/seas site. For the money I got mine for they are good value (tbh - I bought them initially for the 2506 spool as a spare spool for my certates and the EVA and timber handles they came supplied with). I stripped them down to have a good look at them when they got delivered, and to lube them up prior to use. They are no Certate, but are smooth, fairly light, come with an aluminium machined handle and an EVA knob with a lightweight 2506 spool with a decent drag (3Kg's from memory) If you get the one with the W handle it comes supplied with two timber knobs which can be removed and put on other handles (the old folding aluminium handle off the Capricorn fits the Egee's). IMHO if you can get them for the right price they are worth a look.
Regards,
Dave

yes, i also dont thing the e-gee is the best choice in its price bracket (aust rrp)
i have one that has had little use and is already a bit sloppy in the handle, it is after all only a exceller pimped up really.....

personally id stay away from them and the legalis and stick with the caldia/sol/advantage design. much much better reels.

Its all price points.....

Caldia/Sol/Advantage.....none of these reels are under $200....

Exceller/Legalia/Egee......these are all under $200

There are reasons why $300 reels are better than $200....
