emeraldas eging rod

hello, I have recently purchased a rees that is going to be designated to eging (emeraldas) and now im trying to decide which rod to buy.. 2 i have found to my liking so far are the emeraldas rods especially the white interline one .
just after peoples thoughts on these rods and the pros and cons of interline rods in general as i have never used one.
also any thoughts of any other eging rods worth having a look at the ones i have had a play with so far are the emeraldas rods, nories rod and berkley egi master rods.
so far the emeraldas interline looks like the one i will buy but i am keen to keep looking and find something better if need be. i will mostly be using 2.5 to 3.5 sized jigs.
help is appreciated
cheers!

The Emeralda is a good rod but you'll need to keep your braid and your leader knot size down. Anything more than PE 0.8 is quite restrictive through the rod. Knot size can be a pain as well. I dont use double uni anymore. Have to tie the PR or FG knot, that or tie a short leader. I suggest go for the outer guide version.

Forget the Nories as they are designed for finesse style squidding, ie #2.5 and under.

You've listed a whole range of rods there with a whole range of prices. What are you planning to spend?? Whats the reel?

FYI......there's more brands than what you've listed.

Majorcraft
Breaden
KS'Labo
Graphite Leader
Nissin
Shimano Sephia
Gladiator
Hearty Rise
Golden Means..... just to name a few

Fishing mainly from rocks and requiring casting distance?? or mainly jetty work??

If its the former, go with rods of atleast 8ft and rated PE 0.6-1.2max able to cast up to #3.5

Jetty....go upto 8ft and much more finesse rods, say rated upto #3.0max and PE 1.0max. Obviously depends on the average size squid. If the average size is like 0.5kg and upwards, go stiffer rods.

the emma interline is pretty sweet rod, i have the 8f1 and it has landed me quite a few decent squid this season. as some one mentioned the calamaretti thats for sale in on here is a bargin, since your intended budget prob wont stretch to the price of the emmas. have a look on sites like jpf as they normally have a few good jdm rods for a good price. also deff check out the hearty rise type b. its very jdm spec rod at non jdm price.

the emma i was looking at cost 380 and i could stretch the budget to get it since i was going to be spending 350 anyway
I am interested in the hearty rise rod type b since i have heard from a few people that is is a great rod for the price but cant seem to find anywhere to get one from.. (i am in sydney btw)

Interline rods are more trouble than they are worth mate, stick with a guided rod, which ever egi rod you end up with.

can you please explain your reason why they are bad? i havent had any probs with min yet and that was a full 6mths of use (1-4 sessions per week)

and $350 for a emeraldas interline is pretty good price. end of the day it will be your decision. im not saying the interline is the be all end all but my opinion is that it is deff a pretty good rod.

well i have never used any interline rods before and i thought i might give it a go i suppose if i dont like it ill just flog it on the classifieds.
also the interline had a much crisper action than any of the guided rods i have played with.
something different i guess
cheers!~

i didn't say they were bad i said more trouble than they are worth

First you need a rod threader always... knots have to be very very small, you can't see your leader or leader knot just be glancing at it for knicks, twist or whatever.

I'm not bagging them, i just think the cons far out weigh the pros.
