Soft Frog
How are you guys? Been awhile.
Been checking out some plastics for my trip along the northside of Queensland for some bass and barra sessions. Keen on working some unweighted softplastic frogs for something a bit different to my usual routine. Not sure in whether which brand to choose. Looking for some in the 60mm range and 80 mm range. While I'm here feel free to suggest some spinnerbaits. Been looking at the bassmans and TTs. Would they fool the Bass A mundi? ![]() Cheers Lex

i've heard spinner baits will catch baramundi, but the arms on them can get damaged when the barra boof it. with the frogs, maybe the squidgy boof frog or the powerbait frog, not sure what its called though. hope this helps

Boof frogs
![]() As useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle. Been looking at the powerbaits still a 'maybe' for me. As for the spinnerbaits, bought a few 'bassman's'. From what I gathered they seem pretty schmicko. Now looking at a few vibes, as in the 'Jackall' 65TN and the new 'Rapala's' Vibes.

zoom horny toads r what you want, they are heaps softer than boof frogs and get a heaps better splutter and at slower speeds. and for a vibe (i take it you want barra) you cant go past a smartra or vibration x then the tn50s and tn60s. the lucky craft lvr,s kick ass as well and so does thhe bass day range vibes.

its all good, dont get rid of em. just boil them for a bit and they soften up. they defenetly work, but for me the horny toads work so much better.

not sure about barra application but jackall mask frog and mask frog giant work well on bass in my experience.

Have a look at the Cormoran "I am a keru" frog soft bod. Very delicate and not cheap, but they work and feel very realistic... Plus the hook position leaves itself for some rather amusing jokes haha

i had a look at those cormorans, wow for around $15 each, they are v small and really fragile lookin.
i can see them dominating the topwater bass scene, and maybe some other lightish tackle species. i think using them on barra and jacks, etc would kill 'em and your wallet

do you reckon you could trim the legs of the boof frogs like the way they trim the wrists of the slick rigs? maybe give 'em a bit of an ankle trim after boiling

Make sure you get the Bassman Sooty spinner baits, stronger hook on them, but they still bend on Barra, better chance than a TT or somthing with a fine wire hook. Check the bigger TT's out though, they'd be alright, and Barra deffinatley eat spinner baits....they eat anything
