Casting unweighted pilchards w. Nitros

I normally throw pilchards under a bobby cork off the rocks after tailor and aussie salmon with a messiah spin.

I want to throw unweighted pilchards or lightly weighted off tthe rocks. Which nitro rod would be suitable?

Has anyone had any experience in is? Thanks.

The Nitro surf assassin is around 12 feet long with a nice light tip that would be perfect for throwing unweighted pillies. I've had my eye on one of these for a while now and will probably get one as soon as I have my spining outfit paid for. I've picked the rod up a few times and I reckon a 6000 Stradic would be perfect on it. I think the rod is rated 4-10 kg. There is a 12 foot Lox that looks pretty nice as well but a bit stiffer.

Yo Brad, can you explain a little why you say the Magnum is good for this purpose?

As mentioned in my post, I will be off the rocks and not on a boat.

Nigel, is this the family of rods you were referring to? http://www.jarviswalker.com.au/solid...en-deluxe.html

If so, which particular model do you recommend?

It depends where tour fishing... off low rocks or cliffs. If cliffs then sniper but I got the opinion for some reason it was near the ocean level. The mag butt is 7'6 so you get a bit extra reach. It's light in the tip but still got plenty of power for what your targeting. I chase barra with mine around my area.

I've got quite a few rods. The sniper has a casting weight to 40grms and is unlike others I've used. Great for average stickbaits etc etc etc.
