Swan River HB Help

I have been exploring the Swan mainly around Bayswater and the odd venture into other areas like the causeway eddys and raffles area. I do explore snags, pylons, as well as fan out the flats. I am trying SX40s and TT blades as well as some other divers. I so far have managed a couple of decent flatties but am yet to get my first HB Bream.
With all the salt in the river and the millions of Blowies (some are so hungry they smash my HB!) am I better heading north?
Anyone got any Swan river tips for HB Bream, I live closer to the upper reaches (causeway and up) please PM me. Any tips appreciated - Thanks in advance!
Land Based - 8lb Braid - 8Lb Leader - 1500 reel - 6'10" dropshot

use a lighter leader, cast past likely spots and retrieve back through them. With the minnows just wind the reel at a speed which you can feel the lure vibrating, only just though. Pause occasionally. Don't worry about fancy retrieves, just straight wind (slow roll) but the lure must be working.

Normally it depends on the weather weather you use a bright lure or darker coloured lure

Bright for bright days?? Or is it bright for dirty water? I get confused on this issue as I've read a few contradicting things. What about night time HB lure fishing? Does it work?
