Real Four Engine Plates
I am about the service my steez for the first time, just wondering if I should remove the engine plates or not. Apparently if I remove them and don't put it back properly, it will stuff up the reel. But its it essential to remove the engine plates when servicing?

you must remember which washer goes to which side and which plate is where.simply put it this way, either of the real four plates goes to wrong side/reel will have a crunchy feels.good luck!!!
p/s:its really not that hard to stuff it up.give it a go. |

send it in mate, thats your best option for high end gear i reckon, especially if you're not 100% on what you're doing. could end up costing more and as stated, void your warranty
cheers

I've serviced my certate and many other real four reels before no problems, just wondering whether I should take the engine plates off or just leave them screwed to the body.

Steez and certate are pretty well identical internally bar a couple bearings aren't they?
Heard conflicting opinions re plates anyway. Few dudes in sa don't seem to have much trouble with them |

ive never had problems with re-assembling engine plates. they cant really go back on incorrectly. like previously mentioned, just make sure all the shims go back in the way they came out and you'll be right.
