Daiwa Certate 2004 finesse custom any good?

I am after some honest opinions guys.

I am thinking of getting one, but not quite sure if a 2 kg drag is a bit low for bream?

Does anyone use one and what do you think of it?

How does it compare to SOL 2000 except that SOL is only 10g heavier but its drag is 4 kg.

Which one out of two would you buy if you had a choice?

Thanks,

I would have thought the 2kg drag was adequate for a bream reel personally

you can still lock up the reel. most people over estimate the drag they run over their outfits. 2kg is a fair bit through a rod.

the new certate are a much better reel than the sol - you won't be disappointed if you get one.

Thanks,

I have two of the older 2004 certate finesse & have also owned a sol. I think the 2004 is a great reel, I have caught plenty of quality fish on them and the drag is still excellent.

Was never a real fan of the SOL and sold it not long after I bought it.

Cheers

Love the certate mate. The only real that I have that matches its quality is the steez, and I think I love the 2004 even more ( have just bought a second one).

The drag sounds soooooooo sweet, and one flick of the handle and you will see how stupidly smooth it is.

That said, I have heard there have been a few batches that have gone wrong. Whether it be bail arm seizing, line lay euneven ( which happened to the first one I returned) etc. As soon as it was replaced though around....5 months ago, it has been flawless since.

Strongly recommend it based on what ive seen!

dont worry about the drag rating mate, more than half my bream/trout gear is 2-3kg drag rating, never needed any more.
2kg IS ALOT OF DRAG PRESSURE!!!
you get a scale on the end of your line and set the drag to 2kegs. you'll be suprised.

if you dont have a scale, get a 2 litre milk bottle and fill it with water and tie your line to that and try to lift it. i can guarantee that your 4 lb leader will break before you lift the bottle and the drag moves.

Hey Steve,

I just realised that I provided the link to a wrong reel.

The reel I am interested in is definitely a finesse custom 2004. Thread title is also amended. Apologies for the confusion.

Cheers
