Perth: Where to buy Polaroid Clip-On Sunnies?
I recently had to start wearing progressives glasses (yes getting old) and so there goes my quite new single vision prescription Spotters Sunnies which cost me around the $400 mark!
![]() Have been to several optometrists looking for clip-on polaroid photochromatic sunnies but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know where I can get these things, in Perth? Thanks, LR |

Would have thought you would be pushing it clip clip ons Carol. I ended up having to get driver wear lenses.

The few optis that had them had daggy squarish green clip-ons (looks like the 70's) but not cool bronze ones. Got to go clip-ons as they are cheap, and Spotters only do prescriptions on single vision and nothing else. Can prescription sunnies be done in progressive lenses? I can never do knots properly with my S.V. Spotters Sunnies as I can't see, damn frustrating. Mim - are are you out there - need your advise!
![]() Will check out your opti Peter. Last edited by Lone Ranger; 08-10-2010 at 08:49 AM. |

'Can prescription sunnies be done in progressive lenses?'
The colour of the progressives I have are pretty good and I don't have any trouble seeing.

Hey Guys,
I do have access to polarised clip ons. Have a look at www.oceaneyewear.com.au or consider what Maui Jim are doing. Cam

Hi Carol
My opto made me some polarized, multi focals to fit into Rayban frames using Rayban lenses, but they were a bit exxy (about $500 with the rayban frames). Could also have made my script into Maui Jims for bit more Willis & Elliot in Mt Hawthorn.Habervision (online) will make you script also: http://www.habervision.com/product/Trim.aspx Barz Optics (Qld I think) also have a neat range that they will make up into your own script from your opto. http://www.barzoptics.com/ AFN have a range of clip-ons etc: http://www.afn.com.au/shop/scditem.asp?ProdID=1257 AFN also have "fit-over" type polarized eyewear, check them out online or in the back of a Freashwater Fishing magazine

I'm in the same boat. My eyes are deteriorating. I where ordinary multifocal glasses normally. I have perscription polaroid sunnys for distant viewing, but nothing in sunglasses for close up work.
Just recently I discovered the Ugli Fish range of fishing glasses. They have some very handy models with bifocal lenses. They're not prescription bifocals though, just simple magnification ones. I bought a pair with 1.5 bifocals and they work a treat for fishing. My distant images aren't perfect, but up close I can see everything I want. I can tie knots easily now. Best of all, they only cost $120. Mick |
