New 2000 reel choices
Ive been saving for a new reel, a 2000 one. Im looking at spending about $300-$400. Ive looked at a sol (i have the 2500 and love it) and a caldia. Im matching it with my shimano jewel 2-5kg and ill have 4lb braid on it.
Any sugestions?

save another $100 and get a certate.my 2500r is awesome
not sure about comparable weight/balance etc,but somebody will

...and for options that don't include 'Daiwa' or 'Shimano'....
The Abu Soron STX and Pflueger Supreme MG both come highly rated.

definatly the certate finesse would be your best bet i recon, cant beat em for the price they are at some places atm.
i luckily picked one up for 300 and couldnt be happier !

I can't say I agree on the Supreme and I am a big fan of pflueger gear. Better off with the cheaper (and much better imo) President (silver one, not the newer XT/Maroon coloured one).

Woa woa settle down.. At the lower price points Pflueger competes well with shimano and daiwa. Mid range ie: $200-$400 Pflueger can't compete in spinning reels but you go and try out a Pflueger Patriarch or Summit baitcaster, come back and say that. High end, forget it, Daiwa and Shimano are in a class of their own.
