G Loomis Who ?

Im sure there is quite a few Anglers who are 'Loomis-ated'.

But what is all the fuss about ?

I do realise at the end of the day its a 'Premium Product',but its certainly not lighter than the Trions,GenIII's and Raiders ?

All the above have Fuji gear....and are of a certain quality.

All are hybrid IM6/IM7/HM45 Graphite, all have Fuji Gear, all have good reputations for providing a quality product, but why the huge price diff ?

So why do people pay $400 plus for them ?

What's so special about them ?

This is going to get em going so ill get in quick......... Loomis is what i grew up using, and years ago they where the only descent rod around, these days how ever there are alot of great rods out there, but for me its a case of if it aint broke dont fix it, i own a few and fish with them exclusively (doesnt feel right slaying fish on anything else) but soooooooo many people ask me the same question, so i take em out fishing let them catch a few on whatever it is they use then pass them a loomis, 9 out of 10 people salivate then go strait down the tackle shop to put one on order....... GAMEOVER! (should give me a commision) im not saying they are the best rods in the world...... scratch that yes they are go out and buy one!! LIVE BY THE LOOMIS DIE BY THE LOOMIS

its all about the bling factor if you ask me. you dont need a $1000 - $2000 combo to catch bream, you can do just as well if not better on a $300 - $400 combo.

example, Szarn Tink (bender) is probably one of the best bream anglers in WA and he uses $99 Berkley Dropshots and Daiwa luvias reels.

most people who drive Porsches who can't drive for toffee, but some people just like to have the best regardless of ability.

Good gear doesnt make a good fisherman, but it certainly makes you want to be one.

Well I m not a fan of Gloomis so no comments, but I hv owned a few Daiwa's and JDM higher end rods and I do notice the differences.

Sometimes you are not just thinking simply about the total weight, but more important is how it is built to get more balance when feel in hand.

And Fuji is just a company name not all of their products need to be supreme, for only guides there are already many classes made of different materials in different shapes and concepts, Alconite, SiC, titanium frame, K guides.....etc. And sure cost you different price.

So do in blanks, likes what you say IM6,7,8......In Daiwa their highest is SVF (super high volumn), then HVF (only high), then many others.......which make the difference in how the blank preform. Eg, some ultra light rod is just soft, but is deadly soft and without resilience so just soft like a noodle, make itseft easily break, or break your fine lines. While the better blank would hv higher resilience even if it is very soft.

Berkley Dropshot is one of my all time favourite all rounders in 2-4kg. it was my first serious breaming rod and i'd buy another one any day in a heartbeat. although my Loomis is simply amazing. it balances the power out throughout the whole length of the rod. so its using the whole blank's ability, not just the mid and tip sections for the majority of it. AND it weighs a feather.

Great,u r the only 1 so far who has explained that the Blank has the ability to evenly transfer the load over the length of the blank..

For that,i would pay.

Thanks.

I do think theres a bling factor involved, perhaps also confidence in a brand name.

By the way , what did happen to bender? His unique and entertaining sense of humor used to grace the pages of BM on a daily basis?????

G Loomis is definately not popular for its bling. But, I think its more like a monument. After being so popular towards fishermen before I would have been born. Its more of a legacy, and merely to own one. In a way boost your confidence and make you feel comfortable with what you're using.
In a way the age, would make you beleive that G Loomis is a very experience brand and reliable.
I think its merely a fact of mind over matter.
