Daiwa Sol vs Luvias DA

Hi, I'm currently in the market to buy a new reel, and I have narrowed my choice down to the TD SOL and the new Luvias DA. The Luvias is a little bit more expensive than the SOL, so i was just wondering if the Luvias is worth the extra money? or would I be better to go with the cheaper alternative?

thanks!

Alex

My advice would be to try both reels on your rod and see what balances nicley. Luvias is a little lighter for the same size than the Sol. But yeah i love my Luvi.

both are great reels.
if you need the light weight go the luvias.
but from my experience the sol has been the better reel long term........

Mo has some previous version certate for $399 at the moment. See if you interest. Good value. They should be even more expensive than the new certate before it was released.

I was about to suggest that.

2009 Certate Finesse for $399. Same price as a Luvias

I've just been through your delema
Racked my brains for weeks. I finally decided on a Luvias from Japan because I didn't like the color of the Australian version and it was a little bit cheaper than the DA.

I agree, the DA's colours are not that great ... and if i cant get my hands on a certate, the old Luvias might be a good choice!

Hey mate,

I got a 2000 size DA it's a great little reel!
I had a sol as well and the Luvi is definately smoother.

But if you can gather the extra $$$, then go the certate!

Cheers

Felix

It's not an old one. It's the same as the DA but it's silver.
