Soares and Sephias on ebay

Have recently seen the black and red model soares and sephias goin real cheap on ebay. Most of em are under $200 posted from Japan. Was wondering if these reels are any good? nd if anyone on here owns and rates them?. As i reckon they look pretty sweet sorta stradic ci4 x ffireblood lookin but without the price tag. Am after a new bream reel and would consider one if they are a decent reel coz i love the coour scheme. Thanx in advance guys
Ben

They are probably the BB models, on paper, very similar to the stradic fi's. I have the sephia BB, it feels a little geary, but its a great little reel.

Cheers,

I believe the BB stands for "Blood Brother" which use the same design but with cheaper components, hence the low price.

That said, I have a friend who fishes with one often and has never complained about his Soare BB. I reckon they look sexier in the pics than in the flesh though. Up close I think they look a little plasticky.

They are good for that price, just a little bit heavy though. 1000 weights around 210g and 2500 weights around 260g. It would be better if they do 2000 model.

The BB just like JDM version stradic fi, while higher end lighter versions are using Ci4 material just like the stradic Ci4. (Or magnesium in the case of Soare)

I hv bought from plat, no problem. What makes the real difference is you dont hv Aus service, if you get problem later. You may need to post it back to Japan to get the right components or get it fix.

There would be a guarantee card from JDM tackle mainly rods and reels, but plat would keep it and wont post it together to you. I hv asked them before and they replied that the card can only be used in Japan, so they wont offer to oversea customer, but they can do the customer service for you.

It isnt. When I live in Asia before, for example if I break a rod, with that guarantee card I can get the replacing part in a cheaper price, as your local store would order the parts for you with that card from Japan directly. Without it the parts would be much expensive, so we care about that guarantee card, like mates here care about the gloomis's guarantee. I dont know how much would plat charge you if you break a rod and reel and need components from them, but without that card it would be quite expensive. This is what I know and mates that wanna buy JDM tackle should consider about this.
