Cool for all the insect lovers

something amazing happend durring my fishing session today on a saltwater lake.i arrived at my local lake and i see all these insects on top of the water .the bream ,talor, mullet were smashing the surface of the water .i stood there in amazment thinking to myself ,shouldnt the bream be down deep in ,the deep water what are they doing smashing the surface of the water ,so i decided to wade out and have a look at the insects, when i approaced the insects i saw that they were australian native bees on the surface of the water ,i tried all sorts of lures not a hit at all and as the story goes i left my surface lures at home nice one vlad i thought to my self.so i got a 50mm criter out had that on board and i caught one bream i was happy that i caught one bream ,but my point is i learnt a lesson today even thow its winter still take those surface lures with you .you never know when you are going to be in this situation .

Normally you would think they would be down deep.
but as always even with human nature. If something is free or on offer they flock

very good point Vlad thats why i always take all my lures when i go out

Its amazing what you find when you take a moment to notice your surrounds!

I always take my surface lures with me...I normally give them a try, even in the middle of winter...

Keep up the good work Vlad

Very observant Vlad.

Great effort in catching a fish on a lure when there are plenty of food around.

I could never catch a trout when they are smashing insects on a surface.

Cheers,
Alex

I feel your pain - I've had stockies bashing bugs around my ankles - I've tried unweighted, cut down, paddle tails and shallow running bibbed minnows.

They both work but they're nowhere near as effective as I thought they'd be
