you would probably want to get a bigger reel to chase snapper and jewies especially if you get a 4kg fish or bigger

I'm using a nitro voodoo rod on my daiwa hyper 2500r reel
which does the job on my big soft plastic's fishing that i can recommend
you can look at.

Are you after 2 pc or 1pce
What sort of money?
Is the 2500 r the certate

What about a heartland is blue it would match the certate and a nice.
7ft mlf or a heavy depending on line class your chasing

Luvias rod which would also do similar just a latter version to the heartland grey/silver blank.

Both on sale at Ray annes
Another option is a starlo tournie pro (grey)Max or mid spin try the find old version 1 i like them more then the silver reel seat ones.

Or even the nitro range for there warranty reason

All rod above around the 250 mark all up except the nitros

Yep second the heartland. Even though mine is for breaming, its feel great. Light and fast tapered it should be a perfect rod for what you are doing. Also another thing is. You should check out rayandannes or DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh.
Rayandannes have
*Luvias rods on special for $220+postage.
*Sol type II Rods $199+Postage.
*Heartland Rod $199+postage.
Similiar prices are on the sols and heartland at DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh.
If it were up to me, those are the best option and for the price, they gotta be a high consideration atleast in my books.
But hurry, rayandannes special finishes on the 18th July.
Cheers,

7kg drag and a 2500 size spool with 10lb braid I would have thought would be more than adequate, those are the specs of my hyper custom... that should stop most jewies and snapper, even down here in South Oz (where they are monsters!)

Caught 20+ pound mulloway on a 2508 Exist and 6lb braid, they were lucky to get 30m of line off my reel, but in saying that you hook a fish that's 50lb expect a battle, all depends on where your fishing, structure / open estury if ya fishing structure you will get smoked by big fish, but in saying that i know guys that have landed 50lb mulloway on 10lb braid running Certate Custom 2500R's, it's called fishing ya win some you lose some but when you pull a goodun on light gear it's an awsome achievement IMO

Running 8lb now and have landed snapper to 60cm no probs, 2500 is a great size it's all about the fisho's abilities IMO and of course a bit of luck..... Flatties you'll brain them..
