According to the fishnet fish files, apparently not.
Only on the east coast of Australia from mid Qld to the gippsland region. Here we go, "yellow fin aren't real bream anyways, anybody can catch them on lures"

The best advice I can give for catching Tarwine is try the holes in the reef along the coast from trigg to hillarys. Just a little bit of prawn as bait or plastics lightly weighted should do the job. Make sure theres a little bit of white water but not heaps so you cant fish. You just walk out with some booties and drop the lure or bait of the edge of the reef. Summer time is great when theres a little chop from the sea breeze but hardly any swell. They move around a bit so you have to aswell, trust me though there is some thumpers around!

We do get Yellowfin Bream in WA but probably from Canarvon and above all Bream below there are Black Bream
![]() Tarwhine "Silver Bream" are pretty wide spread in the Swan in Summer and will hit lures great little fighters ![]() You also get Buff Bream along rocky areas along the coast seaweed eaters but can be caught and a struggle to land apparently ![]() Mark Last edited by Hyper Tackle; 03-07-2010 at 12:38 AM. |
