Has anybody used this reel before? Keen to know what its like in terms of smoothness, quality ect.

If your a Daiwa Freak then i think you might want to stick with Daiwa (since i am too)... I was planning to get one a while back( Stradic Ci4 ) but when i got to have a feel with it in the tackle store. The initial wind of the reel was the main problem for me though it is a nice reel its smooth, light and black & red is cool ) i ended up with the Luvi DA,

Stay with Daiwa IMO.
Hi D/Freak,
My cousin has the Shimano C14 and it has a slight loose movement in the rotor & we both prefer our Sol 2000's which I happily own 3 of them,the C14 drove me crazy after 30 or 40 minutes trying it  IMO Shimano have gone down hill on a few of there reels in the last 3 years.Gae. Quote:

I have to agree with all. The Shimanos don't cut it. Got a Stradic (not C14) and a Sol. The daiwa wins hands down.
I think the new Emeraldas is the pick of the bunch. Its the cheapest one with Hyper digigear.

Daiwa 4 Me
stick with the daiwa . i always used shimano stradic till i used a tierra . i wont be goin back 2 the dark side. did buy a new stradic but wasnt a patch on the tierra. i now have 4 tierras.

Just recently purchased a c14 and i'm liking it, especially when you need to gain a few metres of line quickly. You do really have to learn to slow down the retrieve on the slow roll though.

H/B 45cm and keeping at it S/P 53cm should do more really vibe 45cm i'm liking em Surface 39cm and work in progress H/B mully 83cm and not so bitter S/P mully 85cm on 4lb FC

Been looking at the C3000s in particular, I want to use it for squidding mainly. I might have to go try a Stradic CI4 in the shops to see what it may feel like. Or I might just save up for the Zaion Emeraldas or the Colossal. Thanks for the advice guys.
