BEAST Buster
Not really a bream stick I know, but looking for something to match my certate hyper custom 2500R, thinking a beast buster might be a nice addition to my collection and great for a combo to target snapper & mullies predominantly or even kingies, barra etc.
Does anyone have one? wondering your thoughts? There is the standard and the long cast, both similar rods but apparently the long-cast is 7'0" as opposed to 6'9" and the standard has a fast action, 7'0" is slightly more powerful in the tip.... They do look sexy esp with the camoufish grips

Not my setup unfortunately as he is running a stella 4000 by the looks.
The certate 2500R hyper custom weighs about the same though so should balance quite similarly I would think. Not sure about grips, that's what I am interested in finding info about, there are a few different grips available

Can anyone recommend this rod? Or another rod to match a hyper custom 2500R, for targetting snapper, mullies, salmon, maybe kingies,. I'm running 10lb braid, the reel weighs 270g from memory....

Loomis IMX SJR844s - 10-17lb stump puller, tiny butt though - mint rod. 7'0
Loomis FLBSR875 - 10-25lb slightly softer, bugger butt - nice rod. 7'3 Id also have a look at the carrot sticks, I have the 30lb sucker and its pretty awesome, the one under that (25lb I think) could be mint. These are some of my Spanglie rods, all run a Stella 4000 or 5000 with 30lb to 50lb braid. cheers

This is just the thread i've been looking for as i too am in the market for doing the same type of fishing.
Have you thought about an EGrell S10? Apparently they have a 'cult status' in South East Queensland. Tossing up between that and a Beast Buster. Do you know what the current price on the Beast Buster is?

Re Beast Buster
Hey Fishlups
I've got both the beastbuster and the s10, both are top rods, the bb is a lot lighter rod, its more a 15pound line and light jighead type of rod .The s10 is more suited to 30 or even 40 pound braid,a very ballsy rod with a soft tip. your certate would balance better on the beast buster. ![]() I would be running 10lb braid, would not go beyond 20lb as I don't like skull dragging. Might still consider the BB the better of the options then What kind of butt do you have? Don't take that question out of context Can you post any pics? And do you have the "standard" or "longcast" version?
