What's between the Twinpower and Stella FD ?

... in the Aus Domestic Market ? Nothing ! It would be nice if Shimano has a couple more spinning reels in the $300 - $700 price range ..

Does anyone feel the same ? It just seems as though Daiwa really owns the 'mid price' (high price being $800+) reels in this area i.e. Caldia, Advantage, Sol, Certate etc...

I feel there's too big a jump from the TP to the Stella. Thoughts ?

edit: forgot the luvias and heartland from Daiwa's range !

Have to agree that they do not have anything listed on the Shimano website. However places like DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh do have others like the Aspire, Fireblood and the Soare which are in that range.
It's a pity Shimano don't bring in some of the Japanese market stuff as there is a great range of mid to high end reels.

Cheers, Dror

Why won't shimano bring in shallow spooled reels ?
Daiwa has infeet, 1003, 2004, 2506, 2508....etc.
If they had their Soare/Sephia BB in Aust I'll buy one quicker than whale sh*t sinks!!!!. Cheaper and lighter than daiwas reels.
This would stop me from window shopping o/s

I have two fireblood 1000's because they are the Stella FB (i think the model before the FD) but redressed.

I also have the Soare 1000 as it has a shallow spool and so i am told has the Stella FB insides in a Twin Power MG body.

Paid $350 for the first Fireblood then $400 for the second and $450 for the Soare.

I like the shimano gear purely because i have had no grief and also wish the range was greater aound the $400 - $500 mark (my sweet spot).

Not trying to start a Daiwa vs Shimano war but pointy out my experience with the reel mentioned by the thread creater.

Those Cardiff Area reels look awesome, pretty sure they are designed for trout in Japan. Would love to get my hands on one.

For those that dont know......the local Twinpower FC are vastly different to the Stella FD. The body, spool, rotor, main gear, worm drive oscillation speed, worm drive gear, etc, etc, practically 2 completely different reels. In fact no reels in the local Shimano range are even close to the Stella. However the Twinpower FC is similar to the Sustain FE and Stradic FI of which the latter 2 are nearly identical.

FYI....the Fireblood is a redressed AND watered down Stella FB...
