absolutely love mine
what you will notice is they are a little noisier than a standard exist due to the hyper digi
i have both though and its barely noticeable
still super smooth, and you can fish them way harder

Is the exist hyper custom the same as the exist hyper branzino minus the carbonfibre bling? I mean are the internals the same?

IMO if you only plan to run it with up to say 10lb pe theres not a huge benefit aside from aesthetics for going up to the hyper
but if you plan to push it harder with up to say 20lb pe, maybe on a second spool, definitely go for the hyper

i thought that even the normal certate comes with saltiga gearing material........i think that this is what it says when daiwa first release the reels.if its true, then theres no need to to go for hyper gears.also, lets rethink what the reels would be used for and mostly will be targeting small species......bream...etc.certainly sure that no one would be targeting mako or marlin with these babies.just my 2 cents.

there is digigear and there is hyper-digigear
certate hyper, exist hyper, exist hyper branzino all have the hyper-digigear
hyper-digigear is a harder therefore better wearing material, but also therefore slightly noisier
IMO on a 250X size reel if you intend to often fish with lines above 10lb you should be seriously considering a hyper-digigear reel as you may end up killing one of the other ones with the abuse

for example i have a standard certate 2500 i run 6lb on for bream and ~20lb on for bigger stuff, after a fair bit of heavier use it now has a bit of a roughness to it, nothing major, but certainly noticeable
where as my exist hyper which i run for breaming and also 23lb varivas for bigger fish has copped much more abuse but is still smooth as butter

daiwa japan can do a hyper digigears upgrade on any certate for around $250.
