Shimano Raider vs T-Curve Flight

Hi guys,

Am after a second 'finesse' outfit, and have seen the rods for the following

Shimano Raider (current model) 762, 2-4 kg, 7 foot 6, 2 piece, $99.

T-Curve Flight ( Ti guides) 2-4 kg, 7feet I think??? $205.

Certainly the Titanium recoil guides look flash, but in your opinions, is the T-curve worth double the investment?

Was going to match up with 6lbs Super PE on a $100 2500 Sedona FD, but just may go a 2500 C14 Stradic, for $250, if I'm convinced the T-curve is worth the extra.

What do people think?

Cheers,

Pat

4 times the rod at only twice the price and half the weight probably! No contest there for me. The raider should not even be in the same sentence.

What I do is buy the reel first. Once I have the reel, before asking which rod would be better, go into a store and see how they feel/balance with the reel on it.
I got given a Raider for christmas and all my reels feel like crap on it.... But i bought myself a Stradic a couple months ago and it's much easier to match it to a rod. Just my opinion.....

Definitely grab the tcurve mate. I've got the raider and the quality on the cork is just pure $hit. My mates got a tcurve and I can tell you its worth it.

Grab a Stradic FI for $145 US + free delivery from here: http://reelfishingdeals.com/shop/pro...products_id=87 - Got mine in 5 business days

The original Raiders were a great rod, especially the blank. Some minor issues with the grip, but the awesome crisp action and power of the blank made up for it (Rack Raider). Has caught so many fish for me, everything from bream to kings, in fact I use it for kings more than anything now. Unfortunately I recently snapped the top 2 inches off, not a hard fix - just shoved a new tip on - but I'm still looking for a new one. Anyone selling an ORIGINAL 1pc Rack Raider in new to good condition?

The new Raider II's are too floppy and heavy. Rubbish rod.

Agreed, raider II's are crap compared to the old raiders or the T-curve. The guides aren't even fuji.

T-Curve Flight for SURE! They're a great rod. Nice actions, sensitive and the componentry is good. FYI they were called Flights because they are F***ing Light or at least they were when they came out.

why not get an aspire (they're basically a stella) - ray and anns in adelade has them for $299 & the t-curve flight for $199. im sure they would look after you and give you a better deal if you buy the combo. just google them and find tehir online store and give them a call.
