Smile Need a new combo

Hi all, first post for me on this forum =)
just after a suggestion for a light combo for bream, flatty, bass, whiting etc. Majority of the fishing will be done landbased using soft plastics and small hard bodies such as sx40s.
I was looking at a trion 7ft 2-4 kg matched with either a 1000 or 2500 symetre or saros. I was leaning towards the saros as it's only a few dollars more, waterproof drag, extra bearing and spare spool.

I ve seen many good reviews on these trion rods and had a look at one the other day, felt really good. Does and one have feedback on the reels and what size to get? I'm also open to other products around the same price. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Cheers.

Btw I'm currently using a catana 7ft 2-4 kg with a 2500 sienna fd.

Cant comment on the reels as i've never used them but can highly recommed the trions. Great rods for the price that can land some much bigger fish than you'd expect !!! Fishing for school salmon is an absolute blast with these rods.

Hey mate,

For the price of the Symetre in Australia, you can almost grab a Stradic from:

http://reelfishingdeals.com/shop/pro...products_id=87

$145 + free delivery is unbeatable

If budget doesn't allow, the Saros is only $120 US hehe

If your new to fishing mate, I would recommend getting your reel in a 2500 size as not too only limit you to mainly bream fishing like a 1000. I got a my reel in a 2500 and have used it to land decent sized trevally, jacks, etc... Once you get into it, I would get another combo specifically for bream.

well i ordered in a trion and went to pick it up. unfortunately they were sent the wrong trion and had to send it back. fortuneately they gave me a trion tournament bream 2pc for the same price.
also picked up a shimano saros 2500 and some 4lb fins for one of the spools. might load the other with 8lb sunline.
can't wait to test this out this weekend

Just out of curiosity how much did you pay for the tournament? You can get the 2-4kg standard trions for 89 online up here in syd

89? That's an awesome price. Which site has those? I was looking at DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh but they weren't in stock and at 129 + 15 for delivery I went looking around. Eventually got the tournament for 119

that's the best price you'll get (that I've seen) online for the tournaments. Amazon Outdoors has them for $89 in the 2-4kg variety, and the 1-3 and 3-6 are $109
