1-piece to 2-piece

Can a 1-piece rod be converted into a 2-piece rod? I have a couple of custom rods I got from the states that I want converted as 7'6" is a bit too long for the car and I don't want to hang them out the window when driving.

If anyone can recommend someone in Melbourne it would be great.

can be done, needs to be done right though.

could potentally effect the action of the rod though?? as you need to insert a graphite sleeve which will be about 4" long (2" glued in the butt end, 2" to insert into the tip), so it could make a 'flat spot' in the curve of the rod. (thats what ive been told, ive never done one in the middle)

i've only just done my first attempt, and rather than being in the middle of the rod, its more a third of the way up from the butt. so the tip is 2 thirds of the rod length. this helps eliminate that problem, but you also are left with 2 uneven length sections (but that doesnt worry me)

That doesn't worry me either, I wanted it similar to that with the tip being around the 6'-6'6 length and the rest in the butt.

Do'nt now if this will help but if you can'tget your rod made into a two piece mabey buy one of those travling hardcase rod covers. They should do the trick.
