Globe Reels??

Has anybody seen or tested Globe reels? AFD in Sydney, market them as a competitor for Okuma reels. 9 ball bearings and a variety of sizes. A 1000 sells for@$110. As I'm in Melbourne just thought i'd get some feedback first rather than ordering one over the phone.

Thanks, Shoey.

Never heard of them Shoey, they sound OK though, Im most interested in a few more details as well, especially if they are to compete against the Okumas. Which are a nice reel also, any pics going anywhere.

i've heard of them and was interested in the 800 size but after asking one of our resident tackle hounds about them could not find one over here in w.a.
seem to be a us product and have had reasonable reviews from what i've read.

thanks for the photo Matty. They do look and feel very nice. I only saw them at the recent Melbourne Boat show, but did my usual trick and left the credit card at home, just in case I couldnt control myself.

I spoke with a guy from their Campbelltown store and he can send me one down for the boat show price plus $10 postage. They try and set you up with an Ugly Stick and reel combo ranging from $120 for an 800 combo or $180 for a 2000 combo. The 2000 on its own is $115 plus postage, which is probably what I will get, that or the 1000.

AFD Campbelltown's phone number is: 02 4620 0200

Shoey.
