I'm using 2-4 trion and 2000 sol at the moment..
You're saying that should be fine?

I have a 3-6 exceler and 2500 tierra that was supposed to be the snapper gear..

That's exactly what i want to hear..
But what about heavier jig head tho? I don't think my trion can cast 1/4 jigs comfortably.. Too afraid snapping the tip.

really depends where you are fishing and for what size snapper. for the little ones (up to 50cm or so) you can just use your 2-4kg bream gear with a slightly heavier leader. Anything above that I prefer to have a 4000 size reel with 15-20lb braid on a 4-8kg rod.

my snapper out fit is a daiwa rod 17-20lb 7ft with a 4000 stradic spooled with 20lb suffix, i run 20lb leader and still get stitched up occasionally by reds, they fight dirty. i'd be interested in hearing if anyone is fishing heavier.

I occasionally cast 10g metals with my 6'6" 2-4 trion. as long as you do a load cast you shouldnt snap with a 1/4 oz but be gentle.

When i get the chance to hit the pinks i just use one of my bream sticks, and if i'm getting blown away i'll change the spool to something heavier..... slightly.

Pflueger Trion 2-4kg 6'6" 2pc matched with a Daiwa Exceller Plus 2000

4lb Crystal Fireline with 5 or 8lb leader
8lb Fireline with 8 or 12lb leader

And if that is still too light i have a 3-7kg 6'6" with a 2500 with 10lb braid and 14 to 20lb leader.... just in case
